Review of WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO? by Aimée Duffy

I’m so excited for my darling friend, Aimée Duffy, she is embarking on a new trilogy of novellas for Harper Impulse, the UK equivalent to our Avon Impulse and the first in the Indecent Proposals Trilogy is wonderful, deliciously juicy, and just naughty enough to make us want more. I was very excited when she asked if I wanted to read, WHAT’S A GIRL TO DO?

***eARC provided by author in exchange for an honest and unscripted review. Actually, she didn’t ask me to review but I’m going to anyway.  J

Blurb for WHAT’S A GIRL TO DO?:

‘I’m not coming over.’ Shey replied confidently.
‘Then maybe you could return the favor now.’
Wait, he didn’t mean…
‘Slide your hand beneath your panties and tell me how ready you are for me.’
Oh my god, he did.

Single Manhattanite Shey Lopez doesn’t do one night stands, or have relationships she can’t control. Especially if giving in to playboy Calvin Jones means losing her heart in the process.

However, Mr Won’t-Take-No-For-An-Answer always gets what he wants and there’s only so many times a girl can resist such an enticing proposal…

*              *               *               *               *

Shey Lopez grew up in her mother’s shadow, feeling unwanted, and constantly a failure in her mother’s eye. One thing her mother drilled into her head was that a man will ruin her life if she allows it. Shey has no intention of letting any man take control and ruin her life, her career, or her future.

Calvin Jones has been raked over the coals by an ex-wife. Left with nothing, no money, no possessions, and no respect, he’s determined to never let any woman get so close as to burn him again.

Each with their own ideas about why a relationship is bad for them, they come together. Eyes meeting across a lobby, libidos set on fire by each other and the looks that each rake over each other but neither willing to give to the other. Calvin attempts his usual seduction techniques on Shey and fails at every turn. She’s too smart for him. Shey attempts to resist his persistence with the declaration that she’s on to him, doesn’t fall for lines, and doesn’t do one-night stands. But soon, they both find themselves in uncharted waters, they break their own rules, they agree to disagree, and they give in to their bodies’ needs and desires. But the thrill doesn’t wane and soon they each find there is something more happening between them, which makes them both run in opposite directions.

WHAT’S A GIRL TO DO?, book one of the Indecent Proposals Trilogy by Aimée Duffy is an adventure in falling in love. From the first moments their eyes meet, to their surprise that they are falling in love, learning to trust, and willing to sacrifice for each other, straight to the end with declarations of love, Shey and Calvin suck us in and keep us turning the pages. This trilogy is labeled erotic romance and yes, it’s sexy, steamy, and might not be for everyone but mild in comparison to some that make you sweat while reading.

WHAT’S A GIRL TO DO? by Aimée Duffy is a romance built on mutual desire born from an agreement to have sex for sex’s sake and nothing more, but where the body desires, so sometimes does the heart. It’s erotic but not over the top, it’s romantic and definitely over the top, and a delightful read that will have you begging for more. I highly recommend reading this fabulous start to a new series coming to us from the UK. This first steamy erotic romance novella is coming to ereaders everywhere August 29th.

Happy Reading Everyone!
